What is more, usually the arbitration takes place in trade and contracts disputes, while the negotiations is more preferable in resolving after-war issues, peace settlement and so on.
To summarize, it is needed to enumerate once again the main differences between negotiation and arbitration processes in the International Law. Firstly, there is a third party in the arbitration which is not only offering the place for the dispute settlement as it may happen during the negotiations, but also plays a role of a mediator ad can share its opinion and offer solutions. Secondly, the difference is in the topic of discussion. Thirdly, there are some international organizations aimed at holding the arbitration process, while for the negotiations there are no such bodies. The last difference is in the level of cooperation between the conflicting parties: in the negotiations it is much higher.
